The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to surge across various regions. As the virus spreads, numerous localities nationwide have reported related infection cases, and the epidemic prevention situation remains extremely grave. The national tourism industry has once again plummeted to rock bottom, with travel agencies in particular being directly ordered to suspend operations due to government epidemic-control requirements. This wave of the pandemic hit differently from the outset—after more than a year of perseverance, the travel agency sector as a whole has been suffering sustained losses, and by now, most companies have nearly depleted their reserves. With the domestic epidemic situation showing signs of improvement, many had pinned their hopes on this summer to make up for previous losses and regain some vitality. However, the resurgence of the pandemic has abruptly extinguished the flicker of hope that had just begun to arise.
In truth, this is precisely the time when tourism professionals should think more rationally about the future. The market does not sympathize with tears, nor can resentment save this industry. It must be recognized that circumstances are beyond our control, yet they can also shift very rapidly. What we have lost now may well be recovered in a few years—but by then, if we ourselves lack strength, it will still be to no avail. Therefore, the current priority remains figuring out how to keep this industry from being easily defeated, how to survive, and how to build up resources for the future.
The tourism professionals at Kangyi have long grown accustomed to a volatile and unstable environment, and have become inured to the vicissitudes of life and death. Yet we hold onto an unyielding hope for the survival of our industry, and refuse to let slip any opportunity for self-rescue. This is the essence of our corporate culture: "Persevere until dawn." The pandemic ebbs and flows, dealing us blow after blow. We may suffer repeated defeats, but we will also rise up and fight back time and again. The pandemic will eventually come to an end. When our shared conviction coalesces into a united force and evolves into a collective movement, we will ultimately achieve victory and embark on a new journey. For now, the most urgent task is to continue training our staff—on one hand, by acquiring and updating new skills; on the other, by vigorously pursuing self-recovery efforts, seeking out new partnerships, and—most importantly—by fostering a rational understanding of the future, building unshakable confidence, and creating a better tomorrow.
